The Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Moshi
- Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport and we’ll transfer you to the Hotel in Moshi where you will stay overnight and gear check.

Day 2: Lemosho Gate to Mti Mkubwa
- Walking Distance: 7 km
- Altitude Gain: 2,100m to 2,610m
- Trekking Time: 3-4 hours
- Morning: Arrival at Lemosho Gate for registration, followed by a gentle hike through lush rainforests.
- Afternoon: Settle into Mti Mkubwa Camp. Enjoy lunch and then relax or explore the surrounding area.
- Evening: Gather for dinner at camp, briefing on the upcoming journey.
Day 3: Mti Mkubwa to Shira 1 Camp
- Walking Distance: 8 km
- Altitude Gain: 2,610m to 3,610m
- Trekking Time: 5-6 hours
- Morning: Begin trek towards Shira 1 Camp, transitioning from rainforest to heather and moorland.
- Afternoon: Arrive at Shira 1 Camp for lunch and rest.
- Evening: Dinner followed by stargazing and overnight at Shira 1 Camp.
Day 4: Shira 1 to Moir Hut
- Walking Distance: 11 km
- Altitude Gain: 3,610m to 4,200m
- Trekking Time: 6-7 hours
- Morning: Trek across the Shira Plateau with breathtaking vistas.
- Afternoon: Lunch en route, followed by an ascent to Moir Hut.
- Evening: Enjoy dinner and the serene solitude of Moir Hut.
Day 5: Moir Hut to Pofu Camp
- Walking Distance: 8 km
- Altitude Gain: 4,200m to 4,030m
- Trekking Time: 5-6 hours
- Morning: Ascend through unique landscapes, exploring the less-trodden Northern Circuit.
- Afternoon: Lunch before arriving at Pofu Camp for rest and acclimatization.
- Evening: Dinner with a briefing on the next day’s trek.
Day 6: Pofu Camp to Third Cave
- Walking Distance: 8 km
- Altitude Gain: 4,030m to 3,900m
- Trekking Time: 4-5 hours
- Morning: Continue the journey with stunning views of Kibo’s glaciers.
- Afternoon: Lunch on the trail before reaching Third Cave.
- Evening: Rest and prepare for the next phase of your adventure.
Day 7: Third Cave to Kibo Hut
- Walking Distance: 5 km
- Altitude Gain: 3,900m to 4,720m
- Trekking Time: 4-5 hours
- Morning: Trek to School Hut, allowing your body to acclimatize to the higher altitude.
- Afternoon: Arrive at School Hut for lunch and relaxation.
- Evening: Early dinner and sleep in preparation for the summit night.
Day 8: Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak, Descent to Millennium Camp
- Walking Distance: 6 km ascent + 10 km descent
- Altitude Gain: 4,800m to 5,895m; descent to 3,950m
- Trekking Time: 6-8 hours ascent + 6-7 hours descent
- Midnight to Morning: Summit attempt to Uhuru Peak. Witness the sunrise from the highest point in Africa.
- Afternoon: Begin the descent to Millennium Camp for rest and celebrations.
- Evening: Reflect on the achievement over dinner at Millennium Camp.
Day 9: Millennium Camp to Mweka Gate
- Walking Distance: 13.5 km
- Altitude Descent: 3,950m to 1,640m
- Trekking Time: 4-5 hours
- Morning: Descend through lush forests, completing your Kilimanjaro journey.
- Afternoon: Reach Mweka Gate, where you’ll receive your summit certificates.
- Evening: Transfer back to your hotel for a well-deserved shower and celebration dinner.
Day 10: Departure

PASSPORT & VISA INFORMATION
Your passport needs to be valid for at least six (6) months after your journey ends, and should have a minimum of one (1) blank visa page for entry and exit stamps.
CASH & CREDIT CARDS
We recommend travelling with some cash, and at least two different major credit cards, such as Visa and Mastercard, so you have backup if your card is not accepted or lost. Access to ATM machines is available in cities close to the mountain or safari but limited to none in rural areas. Contact your bank and credit card companies to let them know where and when you’ll be travelling, as well as confirm any foreign transaction fees.
When carrying cash, try to travel only with recently issued currency in smaller denominations; wrinkled or torn bills are not accepted. Only exchange currency at authorized outlets such as currency exchanges, ATMs or hotels and save receipts as they may be required for exit.
PHYSICAL CONDITION & EXPERIENCE
Please note you will need a Yellow Fever Inoculation; this is a must if you are coming from second and third world countries. Also, if you have had any previous history of Liver Disorders you must consult your physician first. Malaria prophylactics are a must.
BOOKING
Booking confirmation must be done 120 days before the start of the expedition or adventure. A non-refundable 50% advance payment must be made after signing the Service Agreement. Clients must provide a Medical Report signed by a physician stating otherwise healthy and fit. Medical with rescue insurance is mandatory for all participants.
FOOD
Food will be of the highest standard possible, given the remoteness of the certain area. We will take meals (breakfast, Lunch & Dinner) in lodges and teahouses along the trail or cook in the tents where applicable. We are able to accommodate most dietary requirements but please inform us in advance.
THE TEAM
We believe in delivering highest standard of client care before and after the completion of trip. A team of dedicated and experienced Guide & Sherpas will provide support during the trek and for the summit climb as well.
All guests will be given an opportunity to provide feedback.
